Our take
Wikitrivia hands you a card (the invention of the telephone, the founding of a city, the birth of a painter) and asks where it goes on a timeline you are building. Place it right and the timeline grows; place it wrong and you lose a life. It sounds simple and quickly becomes a conversation, because nobody knows when the stapler was invented.
All the cards come from Wikidata and Wikipedia, which means the range is huge and occasionally delightfully obscure. There is a daily mode with the same cards for everyone and a free play mode.
It is a great one to play with someone else at the same screen, arguing about centuries. The code is open source, and feedback goes through the project's public page.
A first sitting
Play the daily mode once alone, then a free-play round with someone else choosing every second card.
Where to stop
The end of a timeline. One daily round and one free round is a good evening's share.
