Accessibility on Questlowe
What we have done to make the site usable, and where we know it still falls short.
1. Our aim
We want Questlowe to be usable by as many adults as possible, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or reduced motion. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
2. What we have done
- Every game can be played with a keyboard; focus is always visible.
- Results are written out in text under the board and announced to screen readers.
- Body text keeps a contrast ratio of 4.5:1 or better.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are cut back; calm mode trims them further.
- Pages work at 200% zoom and on narrow phone screens without sideways scrolling.
- The top menu can be moved through with Q and E or the arrow keys once a menu item has focus.
3. Known limits
The honeycomb boards and the three rings are drawn pictures; screen readers hear the result in words rather than a description of every tile. Symbol images are described in the pay tables. If something does not work for you, tell us and we will fix it or find another way.
4. Contact
Write to hello@questlowe.co.uk with the page and what went wrong. Expect a reply within a week.
