Our take
Globle is geography as a game of hot and cold. There is a new mystery country every day. You type a country, it lights up on a 3D globe, and its colour tells you how near it is: pale for far away, deep red for a neighbour. A few well-chosen guesses usually corner the answer.
It is a lovely way to learn the map without trying. After a week you know where the small countries sit and which borders surprise you. The globe spins and zooms smoothly, and the colours carry the whole game, so it is quick to pick up.
The same makers run two variants from the main page: one for capital cities and a mode called Leagues for playing against friends. Most days, though, the single daily country is the right amount.
A first sitting
Guess a large central country first (for example Brazil or Kazakhstan) to see which side of the world is warm.
Where to stop
The daily country. There is only one, so the game stops itself.
